Everyone knows the economy is bad and because of that fact, the fire service is suffering.
Lt. James Kirsch of the Bergenfield (N.J.) Fire Department said there's no panacea, or magic bullets that will miraculously make fire department's economic woes disappear.

On June 11, crews were dispatched at approximately 5 a.m. for a structure fire with reports of people trapped and jumping from the balcony on Rawleigh Street in Lower Paxton Township.

E-33, 32-1 and Ladder 33 arrived within minutes to find heavy fire conditions on all floors of the garden style apartment building.

With the reports of people still trapped crews from Progress and Colonial Park initiated a primary search.

Firefighters had negative results on the search and were pushed back with heavy fire conditions.

Units responded to a report of a structure fire at 13925 Hazel Dr. Lytle Creek, CA.

A U.S. Forest Service officer reported they had a fully-involved single-family dwelling. Multiple units from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and U.S. Forest Service responded to the incident.

It took about one hour to knock the flames.

Buckeye Fatal House Fire

Units from Buckeye, Buckeye Valley and Goodyear battled a 1st alarm house fire in the 1500 block of Ironwood Dr. in Buckeye at 3:45 this morning. The home was heavily involved in fire when the 1st units arrived. One person was trapped inside and rescued by firefighters. That person died of their injuries. The house next door also sustained damage due to the fire. No one was inside that home. The cause is under investigation. Contact Chief Costello of the Buckeye FD for further information.

Firefighters from St. Johns County Fire Rescue, Saint Augustine Fire Department and Grumman's airport fire department came together for a simulated aircraft crash on the St. Augustine Airport's infield on June 4, 2010.

At 9 a.m., the St. Johns County Comm Center sent out tones to bring fire apparatus and manpower to the St. Augustine airport for a reported aircraft down on the runway with 42 people on board. The tones were immediately followed by the phrase "...this is an exercise."

In a mobile home park just off of U.S. 1 in Melbourne, fire engines and pumpers filled the streets.

The fire occurred right after a massive storm that rolled through Brevard County, so lighting is a possibility. However, none of the neighbors reported hearing anything until the fire engines starting roaring through. The cause is officially unknown at this time.

It took about 20-30 minutes for the fire to be knocked down, according to a Brevard County firefighter.

An accident on State Road A1A at about 4:45 pm on Saturday, May 8 left three vehicles heavily damaged, sent five people to a local hospital and a sixth to a trauma center by helicopter.
