More Than 100 Dallas FFs Battle 4-Alarm Hotel Fire

No injuries were reported as the massive blaze gutted and collapsed the 114-year vacant building—Dallas' oldest hotel—early Tuesday.

A four-alarm blaze burned through Dallas' oldest hotel, gutting and collapsing the 114-year-old building early Tuesday.

More than 100 Dallas firefighters battled the fire at the Ambassador Hotel near the city's downtown, the fire department stated in an online update. The blaze caused a "pretty significant collapse" down the middle of the five-story building, a Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman told the Dallas Morning News.

Firefighters responded to the fire at the hotel at around 1:30 a.m. The flames were under control by about 5 a.m.

No injuries were reported from the blaze, according to the Morning News. The Ambassador Hotel was in the process of being turned into apartments, shops and restaurants.
