PA Firefighters Injured in House Fire

West Ridge and West Lake crews battled a blaze at Millcreek Township home early Thursday that sent two firefighters to the hospital with eye injuries.

Several firefighters were reported injured in fighting a fire that damaged a residence in Millcreek Township early Thursday morning.

Crews from several volunteer fire departments were sent to a residence on West Kelso Drive after the fire was reported on Thursday at 12:03 a.m. Five firefighters were evaluated by emergency medical personnel and two were transported to UPMC Hamot for evaluation of minor eye injuries, according to information on the West Lake Fire Department's Facebook page.

Additional details on the fire were not immediately available Thursday morning.

Crews remained on the scene until 3:40 a.m., according to Erie County 9-1-1.
