Three MI Departments Battle Fire at Historic Home

Crews from the Ionia, Lyons-Muir and Berlin-Orange fire departments responded to the blaze at the two-story house, which suffered significant damage.

IONIA, MIAn overnight fire caused substantial damage to an old house on East Main Street, Ionia Department of Public Safety said.

Firefighters responded around 10:45 p.m. Monday, July 15, to a fire in the 100 block of East Main.

Firefighters found fire and heavy smoke coming from the two-story house. Eventually, fire broke through the roof.

The historic house was destroyed by the fire, the Ionia Sentinel-Standard reported.

Ionia Public Safety requested help from Lyons-Muir and Berlin-Orange fire departments.

No one was injured.

Authorities said early Tuesday that the house sustained significant damage.
