One Killed in Blaze that Guts FL Mobile Home

Sept. 17, 2019
Crews battled the fire that broke out at a mobile home in Jacksonville, and the flames were so intense that they melted the headlight and grill of a Honda parked nearby.

A Monday-night fire in a mobile home on the city's Northwest side left one person dead as the investigation into the blaze continues, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A 9-1-1 call at 7:40 p.m. sent police and firefighters to the scene down a dirt road near Doe Lane to find the home fully engulfed in flames, the Sheriff's Office said. The kitchen and living room area were totally gutted. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, so hot it melted a headlight and grill of a Honda parked nearby and cracked its windshield. They found an adult dead inside the home.

No name, age or gender of the victim were released. No foul play is suspected at this time.
