Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department crews responded to a Mayport dock fire that damaged one boat and sunk another.

An early Tuesday morning fire at a Mayport dock has damaged two shrimp boats, causing one to sink, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told Times-Union news partner First Coast News.

Details are limited, but fire crews were called out about 4 a.m. to a dock in the 4300 block of Ocean Street to find two boats heavily engulfed in flames and smoke, fire officials said.

One boat did sink about 4:30 a.m., fire officials said. At this time, it's unknown how the fire started.

The Times-Union and Jacksonville.com will have more on the fire as it becomes available.
