A firefighter was injured while battling a house fire in Reedley on Sunday night.

According to Reedley Fire Chief Jerry Isaak, crews were called to a structure fire in the 900 block of Kings Drive Circle. As crews arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flames.

Fire crews tried to knock down the blaze but a down power line and gas leak caused some difficulty. Isaak said that one firefighter was injured after stepping on a Christmas tree stand that impaled his foot. The firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital where he is recovering.

Isaak said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
