COPENHAGEN (DPA)—A group of firefighters were attacked with fireworks while they were tackling a blaze on a beach on Denmark, local media reported on Sunday.
One of the firefighters was hit in the eye, a police spokesman told broadcaster TV2.
He was treated in hospital but his injuries were not serious.
The firefighters were called to Brondby beach, in the suburbs of Copenhagen, after a fire broke out in an allotment house.
No suspects have yet been detained.
Police and emergency service workers and others have been attacked with fireworks several times in the past few days in Denmark.
On Saturday, a patrol car was targeted in the city of Aarhus. Young people fired fireworks at passing cars and buses in the Copenhagen district of Norrebro.
The incidents have led to political discussions about whether to tighten the rules on the use of fireworks.
Fireworks can be used in Denmark between Dec. 27 and Jan. 1. However, several political parties are in favour of restricting their use to New Year's Eve.
