TX Firefighters Suffer Burns in 3-Alarm Blaze

Two people in the burning home in The Colony were injured while trying to put out the flames before calling 9-1-1 early Thursday.

Three Texas firefighters were among five people injured in a three-alarm house blaze early Thursday.

The blaze broke out after 6:30 a.m. in The Colony, a suburb just north of Dallas, KTVT-TV reports. Before calling 9-1-1, two people inside the house tried to tackle the flames on their own.

The injured firefighters suffered minor burns battling the blaze and were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. Residents in the house a mother and her adult son also suffered burns and were taken to a facility in Plano, according to KTVT.

The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation, the TV station added.
