MO Home Destroyed by Blaze that Injures Firefighter

The West County firefighter's injuries weren't considered life-threatening, and the Ellisville residents were able to safely escape the burning home.

A Missouri home was left uninhabitable by a blaze early Thursday that injured a firefighter.

The fire broke out just after midnight in Edwardsvjlle, KTVI-TV reports. Flames spread to the home's attached carport, and smoke and water caused extensive damage to the residence.

A West County EMS and Fire Protection District firefighter was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. The residents of the house were able to escape unharmed, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation, the TV station added.
