The massive blaze in Deerfield Township had firefighters from dozens of departments responding to the F&S Produce Company's facility Tuesday.

Dozens of fire departments battled a multi-alarm blaze at a New Jersey produce plant Tuesday.

Crews responded to the fire at around 1 p.m. on the west end of the F&S Produce Company's the industrial frozen production facility in Deerfield Township, WPVI-TV reports. Deerfield Township's volunteer firefighters were assisted by departments from at least 25 neighboring communities, and because the area has no city water supply, farmers were allowing crews to tap into their wells, while trucks were used to transport water from nearby ponds.

According to a statement by the company, no employees were injured, and the plant was safely evacuated. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion, according to WPVI.

Aerial footage shows black smoke plumes billowing from the facility while flames engulfing the roof. The cause of the fire is still not known, and firefighters might be working into the night to put out hot spots, the news outlet added.
