Fort Worth firefighters rescued a cat from the large early Monday blaze, which started in the building's attic and displaced 20 residents.

Texas firefighters rescued a cat while battling a two-alarm apartment fire that displaced nearly two dozen residents early Monday.

Fort Worth firefighters responded to the blaze after a fire broke out in the attic of the apartment building, WFAA-TV reports. Once at the scene, crews were able to contain the flames to the attic.

Six of 12 units were damaged in the blaze, displacing 20 residents, according to KTVT-TV.

Firefighters were able to rescue a cat and reunite the pet with its family, WFAA added.
