FFs Save NV Couple's Rings and Their Wedding Plans

Neighbors captured Henderson crews recovering a couple's wedding and engagement rings, as well as the woman's wedding dress, following a weekend house fire.

Quick work by firefighters over the weekend not only rescued a Nevada woman's wedding dress and rings, but they also probably saved the couple's wedding.

Henderson crews responded to a fire Saturday at the house of Mimi  Marois and Kevin Lister, a couple that was set to get married in about a week, KTNV-TV reports. Although the blaze destroyed much of the couple's home, firefighters were able to recover Marois' dress, as well as the wedding and engagement rings Lister had been hiding until the ceremony.

“I can’t imagine them looking around for a little ring in the bedroom, and he comes out with a ring and a dress,” Lister told KTNV.

Video captured firefighters recovering the items for the couple, who stayed with neighbors following the fire. On Sunday, Marois and Lister assessed the damage to their house, as well as their upcoming wedding plans.

“Talking to her about it, I said, 'Baby, we can push this back and postpone.' And the vibe last night was amazing,” Lister told KTNV.

In fact, the dress and rings were able to survive the blaze relatively unharmed.

"(The dress) was in good condition," Marois said. "It’s just the smoke. It’s amazing, with everything that we had inside burned outall those stayed intact."

And the couple's wedding plans are intact, too.

“It’s a sign," Lister told KTNV. "They came out with the ring and dress. You guys got to keep going, and we had the best friends ever for support."
