Apr. 20—Three people believed to be family members died in a fire early Saturday morning in rural Rose Hill, according to Butler County Undersheriff Daimon Cundiff.

The fire was reported just after 3 a.m. at a home in the 15400 block of SW County Line Road. First-responders arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.

Firefighters broke through a window in the one-story home and pulled an unresponsive person from a bedroom, Cundiff said. Butler County EMS took that person to the hospital where they later died.

The other two victims were found in the main living area once the fire was put out, he said.

Cundiff didn't know who called 911.

Just before noon Saturday, Cundiff said they were still working to identify the victims before releasing their names, but they believe it was a family.

A fire investigator from the Augusta Department of Public Safety is working to determine the cause of the fire. The home is a total loss, he said.
