Loudoun County firefighters battled a stubborn fire in Sterling Monday afternoon.
Plumes of dark smoke forced officials to evacuate about 400 people from the area, WUSA9 reported.
Firefighters called for additional alarms as manpower was needed.
The cause remains under investigation.
