Chesterfield County, Virginia Firefighters Control Apartment Blaze

On Saturday, October 29, 2005 Chesterfield County (VA) Fire and EMS units were dispatched to a working apartment fire at the Falling Creek Apartments in the Bensley area of Chesterfield.

On Saturday, October 29, 2005 Chesterfield County (VA) Fire and EMS units were dispatched to a working apartment fire at the Falling Creek Apartments in the Bensley area of Chesterfield. First arriving companies found fire coming from the second floor window of a two-story townhouse style apartment.

Companies initiated an aggressive interior attack knocking the fire down and containing it to the apartment of origin. Two exposure apartments suffered minor smoke damage. The occupant of the fire apartment was displaced and the Chesterfield County Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause.

The response included 4 engines, 1 truck, 1 heavy rescue, 1 medic unit, the on-duty Tactical Safety Officer and two Battalion Chiefs. The incident was marked under control in 24 minutes.
