Four Injured in MVA with Rescue Truck in Laurel, Maryland

Four people were seriously injured last night when they're Chevy Suburban slammed into the side of a rescue truck on Interstate 95 in Laurel, Maryland.

Four people were seriously injured last night when they're Chevy Suburban slammed into the side of a rescue truck on Interstate 95 in Laurel, Maryland.

Shortly after 1:30 this morning (10/12/05) Rescue Squad 49 (Heavy Duty Rescue Unit) from Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad was cleaning an auto accident scene on the Interstate near Van Dosen Road in Laurel, Md when the Suburban ran into the side of the truck as it was turning into an emergency cut though ramp.

Several people in the Suburban had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters from Rescue Squad 49 and Montgomery County Rescue Squad 15 from Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department.

All four victims were transported by units from Prince George's County Fire EMS Department to local trauma centers stated a spokesperson for PG County Fire Department

None of the firefighters from Rescue Squad 49 were injured and damage to the rescue vehicle is estimated at $10,000

Police are investigating if alcohol was a factor in the accident due to a large number of beer cars found in the car.
