Washington D.C. Firefighters battled a two- alarm fire that ripped through the top floor of a two- story commercial building on Saturday, October 15th.

The mid-afternoon blaze in the nation's capital involved a stand-alone structure with a liquor store on the first floor and apartments above.

Units approaching the scene at 2725 Bladensburg Road, NE, reported heavy fire and smoke showing.

An aggressive interior attack was able to quickly contain the flames, and all occupants escaped safely.

The second alarm assignment brought 10 engines, 5 trucks, 2 heavy rescues, 3 battalions, a deputy chief, an air unit, a rehab unit, and EMS to the scene.
