Just before 2pm, on Friday, September 2nd, Huntertown Fire Department and Washington Township Fire Department responded to a working structure fire in the Seven Oaks Addition on Shady Hollow Place.

Washington Township Ladder 67 was first to arrive to heavy smoke and flames coming from an attached garage with a vehicle leaking gasoline inside. Engine 91 backed the Ladder crew as Rescue 98 attempted a ventilation hole. Fire damage was primarily contained to the garage and attic above.

An insulation vacuum was used to remove all attic insulation because of fire extension.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the owners were able to leave unharmed.

Several departments assisted including St. Joe Twp FD, Fort Wayne FD, Churubusco FD and Southwest Fire District.
