Pennsylvania Firefighters Battle 2 Alarm Blaze

On July 26, 2003 at 01:14 hrs the West Grove Fire Company Stations 22 & 12 were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire located at 220 East Evergreen Street.

On July 26, 2003 at 01:14 hrs the West Grove Fire Company Stations 22 & 12 were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire located at 220 East Evergreen Street.

The first arriving officer, Asst Chief 22, reported a three story dwelling with heavy fire showing in the rear of the residence.

Chief 22 also arrived on the scene and quickly struck the second alarm. At 01:20 Engine 22 arrived and placed into service a 1 3/4" line to the front and a 2 1/2" line to the rear of the dwelling. Crews from Engine 22 made a quick knock down of all exterior fire. The crew from Ladder 22 was instructed to place the stick in service and vent the roof.

Chief 22 placed the fire under control at 03:14 hrs. Firefighters remained on scene through most of the night. No injuries were reported. The fire is still under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals.

Assisting companies are as follows: Avondale, Cochranville, Hockessin, Longwood, Parkesburg, Rising Sun, and Union Fire Co.
