Jamestown, NY Firefighters Battle Fire Following House Explosion

The City of Jamestown Fire Dept., New York responded to a fire call after an explosion at 23:40.

Upon arrival at 212 Forest Ave, heavy fire to the rear of the structure was noted to an OMD structure.

Multiple hand-lines were placed in-service with an exterior attack. In addition to the multiple hand lines, one deck gun was placed in-service to protect adjacent exposures.

Reports of a 14 year-old entrapped were later proved to be false.

Additional City Fire Department personnel were called in to assist the crew of 9 on-duty career fire fighters.

City fire fighters were assisted by neighboring volunteer services & by Alstar Ambulance. On Saturday, Jamestown City officials had declared the building a loss & uninhabitable. The remaining structure will be demolished later next week. Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
