Pennsylvania Firefighters Fight Car Fire

Around 8pm, Millcreek Township Emergency Communications alerted the West Ridge Fire Department for a vehicle fire on US Route 20 westbound just west of Interstate 79.

June 19 -- Around 8pm, Millcreek Township Emergency Communications alerted the West Ridge Fire Department for a vehicle fire on US Route 20 westbound just west of Interstate 79. WRFD Safety 1 arrived on location and reported a working fire. Engine 17 arrived on location within minutes. The crew extended an 1 3/4" attack line to the fire.

While battling the fire. Engine 12 from the City of Erie Fire Department, while returning from a totally separate call, came upon the fire and assisted WRFD with line extension. There was an opportunity for neighboring fire departments to assist one another.

WRFD has the fire under control in 10 minutes. The cause of the fire is undetermined. The vehicle is a total loss.
