At approximately 4:30 a.m. Company 53 was dispatched to the area of Old Cedar Grove Road for a possible building fire.
53-9(Chief) went on location reporting an unoccupied fully involved dwelling. Since the building was completely engulfed in flames, it was obvious from the start that this would be a completely exterior operation, or what we call a "surround and drown". Tele-squrt 53 laid a supply line into the scene and setup up its boom for a master stream operation. Engine 53-2 laid 1200' of 5-inch supply line from an additional hydrant to support Snorkel 53 with its master stream. Numerous hand lines and blitz lines were also in service. Crews remained on scene until 7:30. The cause is under investigation. Units operating at the scene : Tele-Squrt 53, Sorkel 53, Engine 53-2, and Rescue 53.
