Jacksonville, North Carolina Firefighters Battle Structure Fire

On June 6, 2003, Engine-1, E-2, Ladder-1 and 402 (duty chief) were dispatched to 1307 Hargett Street at 01:41 hrs. for a structure fire.

On June 6, Engine-1, E-2, Ladder-1 and 402 (duty chief) were dispatched to 1307 Hargett Street at 01:41 hrs. for a structure fire. Upon arrival at 01:46 hrs., 402 assumed command and reported heavy fire showing with fire through the roof of a duplex apartment threatening exposures.

E-1 laid a supply line in and initiated an attack along with the other units. Fire damaged units 1309, 1311 and 1313 along with an outside storage shed. All the units were vacant at the time of the fire. One firefighter was slightly injured after a fall inside during the fire attack.

Squad 1, 400 (fire chief) and 411(fire marshal) assisted units at the scene. The fire is suspicious in origin and is currently under investigation.
