Prince George's County Firefighters Rescue One from House Fire

PG County Communications received a telephone call reporting smoke coming from the house with one trapped in the 5500 block of Chesterfield Dr.

PG County Communications received a telephone call reporting smoke coming from the house with one trapped in the 5500 block of Chesterfield Dr.

First arriving units were met with smoke showing. Engine 322 from Allentown Road layed out and Engine 272 picked up their line.

Entering first, Company 32 seeing fire at the bottom of the steps started down to the basement. At the same time, Company 27 entered and advanced the line to the first floor discovering small areas of fire in the living room and dining room. Company 32 discovered fire in the basement. Knocking the fire quickly, 32 redeployed their line to the first floor.

With 27 operating to the left 32 went to the right with their line. Meeting Truck 25 at the first room 32 continued to the next room.

Upon starting the search, the Assistant Chief 32, the officer of E322 was grabbed by a victim. A/C Kevin Deck and Firefighter Billy Hall removed the victim. Firefighter Rob Davis and EMS units took over patient care providing Rescue Breathing. The victim was transported for smoke inhalation to area hospital.

Rescue Squad 47 and Engine 292 performed the secondary search.
