Firefighters from Crowder’s Mountain Volunteer Fire & Rescue, City of Gastonia Fire Department, and personnel from the North Carolina Forestry Service battled a forest fire Saturday afternoon in Gaston County, North Carolina.

At 4:06 p.m., Crowder’s Mountain received a dispatch of a reported brush fire at a residence on Camp Rotary Road at Diamond Road.

Approximately 15 firefighters from all departments overcame the challenging high winds in the area to bring the massive fire under control in approximately two hours.

No were reported. The fire was initiated by a resident burning debris.
