A fire occurred on April 23, 2003 at 0549 in Port Charlotte Florida. The fire was in a single family residence with the fire originating in the garage area and spreading via the attic. The garage area was destroyed with heavy heat & smoke damage throughout the home.
The fire was extinguished by two engines, one truck, one rescue and a Battalion Chief from Charlotte County Fire-EMS.
The occupants of the home escaped on their own prior to fire department arrival with no injuries. Several pets died in the fire.
The home on the exposure D-side was damaged by radiant heat and 4 vehicles were damaged or destroyed.
