Fire Damages Indianapolis Apartment Building

Flames shot through the roof of a burning apartment building on Indianapolis' north side Thursday afternoon.

The blaze broke out at about 2 p.m. at Pickwick Farms, just south of Interstate 465 near Ditch Road, destroying four apartments.

Crews had the blaze under control within 30 minutes. One firefighter suffered a burn to his arm and was transported to Methodist Hospital.

No residents were injured.

Fire officials said they believe the blaze started a balcony. Damage to the building is estimated at $250,000.
