The driver of a 2002 BMW somehow managed to crawl out of his vehicle after being hit by a speeding semi on an Illinois tollway on Thurs., Aug. 12, 2010.

Travis Miller, 24, of Pontiac, Ill. pulled over in the center median of the I-90, just west of Chicago. His vehicle became disabled right before it was impacted by a semi hauling chocolate.

Miller's vehicle, as well as the semi, exploded on impact, sending burning wreckage all over the roadway. One witness described the scene as looking like a plane crash.

The truck had two drivers and both were transported to local hospitals. Miller was transported by Flight for Life to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with burns and other injuries from the crash.

The tollway was closed in both directions for about three hours.
