On March 14, 2005, at 1:36 PM, Richland Twp Fire Dept. in Pennsylvania responded to the report of a building fire. The 2-story wood frame building contained nine apartments on the second floor, and approximately six businesses on the first floor.

While en route, Truck 3-1 advised Cambria that smoke was showing from the Scalp Ave. and Eisenhower Blvd. intersection. Once on scene, Truck 3-1 advised Cambria that the fire was through the roof and requested a second alarm assignment.

Next, truck and engine crews made entry into the C/D corner to make an interior attack. Crews made progress on the fire in the entry room, however as crews were advancing to the second floor up the steps, it was determined that the fire had advanced and the roof was coming in. Crews pulled out and all operations went to a defensive exterior attack.

Truck 3-1, Tower 3-1 and the Truck out of Franklin Station 5 were placed into service with operating master streams. All crews from all companies worked together with extinguishment of the fire.

RTFD had total of 33 personnel working this incident. This fire is still under investigation.
