Two Occupants, Eight Show Dogs Escape RV Fire on I-95 in South Carolina

At 6:46 PM, on Sunday, March 13, 2005, Colleton County Fire-Rescue responded to a large bus type camper on fire at the northbound 47 mile marker on I-95 in South Carolina.

At 6:46 PM, on Sunday, March 13, 2005, Colleton County Fire-Rescue responded to a large bus type camper on fire at the northbound 47 mile marker on I-95 in South Carolina.

The fire was well involved when fire units arrived. Firefighters used three handlines to battle the blaze which totaled the camper.

The occupants and their eight show dogs, valued at 1/2 million dollars, escaped the fire with the help of brave motorists who stopped to assist them.

No one was injured, however I-95 was shut down to one lane for about two and half hours causing traffic to back for several miles.

Engine 101, Tanker 103, Tanker 1302, Tanker 2602, Squad 1 and Truck 12 responded.
