Hagerstown, Maryland Firefighters Extricate Occupants in MVA

On March 10, 2005, crews from Juniors Fire Company of Hagerstown and Community Rescue Service responded out at 6:42 PM for a vehicle accident at the intersection of the Dual Highway and Eastern Boulevard.

Hagerstown, MD -- On March 10, 2005, crews from Juniors Fire Company of Hagerstown and Community Rescue Service responded out at 6:42 PM for a vehicle accident at the intersection of the Dual Highway and Eastern Boulevard. Washington County dispatch had multiple reports of a serious accident at the intersection.

Juniors Fire Company Engine 3 arrived first on scene. FAO Shaffer immediately reported "One Pinned" and requested a second Rescue Squad. After evaluation, a report of a Priority 1 patient and a Priority 2 patient were confirmed and Washington County Trauma Center was pre-alerted of the incident by Fire & Rescue dispatch.

Additional Medic units were called to the scene to assist. Battalion Chief Myers arrived on scene and assumed command of the incident.

Crews were able to complete extrication at 7:13 PM. Community Rescue transported three patients to Washington County Trauma from the scene of the accident.

Fire Company Operations were completed by 7:35 PM at which time crews were able to turn scene over to Hagerstown Police and return to service.

Crews on the call were HFD Juniors Fire Engine 3, Community Rescue Squad 75, Funkstown Rescue Squad 10, three medic units from Community Rescue, Car 303 and Utility 3 from HFD.
