Cranberry Township Volunteer Township Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 2am on Tuesday Febuary 4th, 2003 for a structure fire. Units arrived to 4256 Glenn Eden Road, Cranberry Township, PA to find a detached garage completely involved. The fire was beginning to spread to the adjacent 176 year old home.

The units were able to contain the fire to 2 rooms in the house. Unfortunately, the garage and its contents (that contained among other things, an antique pickup truck and car) were completely destroyed. The cold temperatures and snowfall made the fire attack difficult. There were no injuries reported.

Cranberry Chief 21(M Nanna) had Command and Chief 21-2 (T Rice) had Operations. Assisting the Cranberry units for the fire attack were Zelienople, Mars and Big Knob. Marshall Township was the RIT team and Valencia was put on standby.

Units remained on scene for approximately 5 hours.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
