Walden, New York Firefighters Battle 2 Alarm Commercial Blaze

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 the Walden Fire Department was alerted for a possible structure fire at Spence Engineering at 150 Coldenham Rd.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 the Walden Fire Department was alerted for a possible structure fire at Spence Engineering at 150 Coldenham Rd. Walden Command (A/C Paul Pullar) arrived on scene with heavy smoke from the rear of the warehouse and declared a working fire.

A short time later a request for mutual aid was placed bringing 1E & 1 Heavy Rescue from Coldenham, 1 Engine from Wallkill and Orange County Deputy Coordinator A. Trapini to the scene with several others on standby at various locations.

The fire was in an air filtration unit at the rear of the warehouse. It took firefighters approximately one hour to bring the fire under control. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
