Fog in Utah Causes Thirteen Car MVA

On Saturday, Febuary 12, 2005, South Davis Metro Fire responded to a multiple car MVA in Woodscross, Utah.

On Saturday, Febuary 12, 2005, South Davis Metro Fire responded to a multiple car MVA in Woodscross, Utah. Woodcross is located approximately ten minutes North of Salt Lake City.

Upon the arrival of Rx81, Am85, TK85, crews encountered 13 cars with a total of 23 patients. Additional units were requested.

Two county paramedic units, along with E81, E82, Am83, Am84, Am81, Am83, were also dispatched.

Of the 23 patients, nine were transported, five of them being Trauma 1. No helicopters were available due to the fog that had caused the crash.

Two people had been ejected into northbound lanes of the freeway, and several had to be extricated. The crews did a remarkable job of triage and handling the incident.
