At 5:30 p.m. the Berwyn, IL (a suburb of Chicago) responded to a report of a house on fire in the 1500 block of Clinton Street
On arrival first companies were faced with a fire in the rear of a one and half frame residential (Chicago style bungalow).
Companies stretched handlines and worked to extinguish the fire as well as search for occupants.
The house was an older home which allowed for the fire on the first floor to spread to the second floor.
With fire having spread through out the second floor companies made an exterior attack. Berwyn put to work their Seagrave Quad with an adjustable nozzle as well as three handlines used.
It took about an hour to bring this fire under control. Assisting Berwyn were Cicero, North Riverside and Stickney.
No injuries were reported.
