R.I. Firefighters Knock Duplex Blaze

  Providence, RI - The crew of Ladder 4 spotted smoke as they cleared a medical call around 11:30 a.m. on May 11. Fire Alarm also was receiving calls for the address of 142-44 Chad Brown Street in the area of Ruggles St. at the same time.They found fire showing from the lightweight constructed, raised ranch style duplex.Firefighters on Engine 14 stretched a 2.5" big line to the rear to knock the heavy fire.

Providence, RI - The crew of Ladder 4 spotted smoke as they cleared a medical call around 11:30 a.m. on May 11. Fire Alarm also was receiving calls for the address of 142-44 Chad Brown Street in the area of Ruggles St. at the same time.

They found fire showing from the lightweight constructed, raised ranch style duplex.

Firefighters on Engine 14 stretched a 2.5" big line to the rear to knock the heavy fire.

The fire had extended upwards and into the dwelling via windows, doors, and a gable vent on side C. The fire had taken possession of the attic area and burned through half of the sheathing and trusses of the right side of the duplex.

All occupants were reported to be outside.

The fire was knocked using one 2.5" line and three 1.75" hand lines.
