On December 17, 2002 Georgetown Firefighters were called to 4700 Quarry Rd. for the reported house fire with rescue.
Arriving units went on the scene with a 1 story wood frame well involved. Primary searches located a 56 year old victim in the kitchen next to the stove he using to stay warm.
First due units remained on the scene for approximately 3 hours. The cause of the fire was ruled as electrical.
Responding units included: Georgetown TS-22, E-21, Tanker 27, Tanker 26, R-2 Chief 1201, Chief 1202. Greenville E-33, E-31, Tanker 31. Lafayette R-1, E-11 Tanker 16. Yellow Ambulance Squad 52.
Chief 1201 had the command.
