On Wednesday Dec. 4 2002 1640 hrs Montgomery County Fire Radio struck Box 35-52 at 3855 Blair Mill Rd Building 215-J for the Blair Mill Village Apartments.
Deputy Chief 95 John Kulick, Hatboro arrived on scene with a two story garden style apartment building with heavy fire showing and people trapped on the second floor. Deputy 95 reported rescues being made by civilians on location, one child and one female jumped from the second floor.
Squad 10 (Engine, Willow Grove) arrived and Career FF Jim Lambert reported heavy fire second floor and roof area and placed companies in service with heaviest water lines. Squad 10 placed their deck gun in service. Crews also advanced a hand line to the inside to check for trapped occupants.
Battalion Chief 10 Chuck Jones, Willow Grove arrived on scene and requested the second alarm.
Squrt 99 (Willow Naval Air Station) put their tower in service. Command reported numerous ladder pipes in service and bulk of the fire knocked.
An aggressive initial attack on the fire kept the fire from extending to an adjoining building. There were no reported injuries.
