Rescuers Help Man After Construction Fall in Alabama

Orange Beach (AL) Fire Rescue's Fire Medic Johnnie Sundie descended with a fall victim from the fifth floor of a condominium under construction.

Orange Beach (AL) Fire Rescue's Fire Medic Johnnie Sundie descended with a fall victim from the fifth floor of a condominium under construction.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 1:11 PM, after the patient reportedly fell while working at the site.

The response included two ALS Engines, one ALS Rescue, a technical Rescue Support vehicle, and two staff vehicles from Orange Beach Fire Rescue including Fire Chief Forney Howard (Incident Commander), as well as staging Escambia County (FL) ALS Engine 19-19.

The patient was rescued using mechanical advantage raising and lowering systems and was transported to the LZ by Medstar EMS and flown to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida for treatment of possible closed head injuries.
