Orange Lake, New York Firefighters Tackle Working Structure Fire

Just before 9 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2004 the Orange Lake Fire Department was alerted for a working structure fire on Lakeside Road and Gardinertown Road in the Town of Newburgh.

Just before 9 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2004 the Orange Lake Fire Department was alerted for a working structure fire on Lakeside Road and Gardinertown Road in the Town of Newburgh.

Orange Lake Car 1 (Chief Charles Piper) arrived to a fully involved dwelling and requested a second Alarm.

Upon its arrival, Winona Lake Tower 325 setup for aerial master stream operations and due to deteriorating conditions. The mode of attack was switched to exterior ops only.

Units from Coldenham, Winona Lake and Town of Newburgh Vol. Ambulance Corps assisted at the scene with several other Depts on standby.

The cause of the fire, which heavily damaged the structure, is under investigation by the Town of Newburgh Fire Marshall's Office and Orange County Fire Investigation Unit.
