Camden, New Jersey Firefighters Quickly Knock Down Auto Junk Yard Fire

Fire radio received several calls for a large column of smoke coming from an automobile junk yard on Howell & Steward Streets in the East Camden section of the city on November 29, 2004.

Fire radio received several calls for a large column of smoke coming from an automobile junk yard on Howell & Steward Streets in the East Camden section of the city on November 29, 2004. Engine Companies 9, 11, 6, Ladder Company 3, Rescue Comapny 1, and Battalion Chief 2 were dispatched to the scene.

Ladder Company 3 was first in and reported five or more junk cars fully involved. Engine 9 lead off with two 1 3/4 lines along with Engine 6 and 11 with their lines.

Firefighters had the fire under control and knocked down in 15 minutes.
