Mechanicstown, New York Firefighters Extricate One in Rollover MVA

Just after 3 PM on Monday, November 15, 2004, Mechanicstown and Maybrook firefighters were alerted for a rollover MVA w/ Entrapment on I-84 at Exit 4 (Rte 17) in the median.

Just after 3 PM on Monday, November 15, 2004, Mechanicstown and Maybrook firefighters were alerted for a rollover MVA w/ Entrapment on I-84 at Exit 4 (Rte 17) in the median.

Mechanicstown Command (Chief Paul Smith) arrived and confirmed he had one entrapped in the vehicle and requested the "Jaws" from Rescue 119. After a 25 minute extrication, the driver was taken with serious but non life threatening injuries to a local hospital for evaluation.

Assisting Mechanicstown on scene were units from Mobile Life Support Services, the Maybrook Fire Department and New York State Police. Cause of the accident is under investigation.
