Maryland Firefighters Battle House Fire

Hagerstown firefighters responded out at 23:18 hours Tuesday night for a house fire at 23 South Cannon Avenue in Hagerstown.

SEPTEMBER 14, HAGERSTOWN -- Hagerstown firefighters responded out at 23:18 hours Tuesday night for a house fire at 23 South Cannon Avenue in Hagerstown. Fire Rescue had follow up reports of possible entrapments and started a Medic unit on the call.

Battalion Chief 2 (Randy Myers) arrived on scene directly after dispatch to find fire blowing out of the structure. He immediately advised he had a working house fire and requested additional units. Two additional engines, one rescue squad, an additional medic unit, and the Emergency Air Unit were started on the call. Over 30 firefighters responded on the call. Crews were able to have the fire under control with in 30 Minutes after dispatch.

One occupant of the house was transported to Washington County Trauma Center. Crews remained on scene well after midnight. The incident is under investigation by the Hagerstown Fire Marshals Office.

Crews on the call were: First Hose E-1, Antietam E-2, Juniors E-3, Western Enterprise E-4, Pioneer Hook & Ladder L-1, Halfway L-26, Funkstown E-101, CRS 75 Rescue Squad an Medic Units, and Washington County Air Unit and Rehab Unit.
