St. Amant, Louisiana Volunteer Fire Deparment Responds to Fatal Motorcycle Accident

On Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at 9:43 PM, St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a local Donaldsonville resident.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2004, at 9:43 PM, St. Amant Volunteer Fire Department and the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a local Donaldsonville resident. The accident occurred south-bound on Hwy 431 near Talley Road in Ascension Parish.

Training Chief Thomas Lanoux II and EMS Chief Todd Bourgeois arrived on scene first and found a 2004 Harley Davidson Motorcycle that had left the roadway and crashed into a culvert on Hwy 431. Training Chief Lanoux II assumed command and requested Acadian Ambulance Air Med for the driver who was reported in very serious condition on scene.

Chief Officer James E. LeBlanc and Captain Jerry Gautreaux arrived and established a night landing zone for Air Med.

The local resident was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales.

The accident is under investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
