Pennsylvania Crews Respond to Warehouse Fire

Firefighters reported a roof collapse

On Wednesday, Feb. 27th, 2008, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Allegheny County 911 received numerous reports of a warehouse fire at the corner of 6th St. & Pine Way in Braddock, PA.

A first alarm response alerted Braddock VFD (Station 113), North Braddock VFD (Station 207), and East Pittsburgh VFD (Station 136).

First arriving units found an approximately one-block-long construction warehouse well off, and quickly requested that a second alarm be struck. Shortly after the second alarm, 6th St. command advised county communications of a roof collapse.

Third and fourth alarms were subsequently struck, bringing in volunteers from Munhall, Rankin, Whitaker, Turtle Creek, and North Versailles to the scene.

Additionally, the Allegheny County Fire Marshall's office and Allegheny County Emergency Management Command 400 reported to the scene. Units worked well into the night to bring this massive fire under control.
