Indian River and Rehoboth Beach along with Sussex County EMS responded to a house fire at 22645 Danfield Drive in DanField Acres off of Del. Rt 5 west of Lewes.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the residence with all occupants having escaped the fire safely prior to the arrival apparatus.
No injuries were reported as crews fought in cold temperatures for over three hours to control the blaze.
The Delaware State Fire Marshall determined that gasoline put into a kerosene heater was the cause of the blaze. The home was heavily damaged by the fire
