Orange Lake, New York Firefighters Battle Multiple-Alarm House Fire

At around 4 AM, Saturday, April 24, 2004, the Orange Lake, New York Fire Department was alerted for a structure fire on West Meadow Winds Drive near Wesley Court in the Meadow Winds subdivision.

At around 4 AM, Saturday, April 24, 2004, the Orange Lake, New York Fire Department was alerted for a structure fire on West Meadow Winds Drive near Wesley Court in the Meadow Winds subdivision.

Orange Lake Chief Charles Piper arrived a short time later to find a large well-involved dwelling. An immediate request went out to Winona Lake for 1E & 1L along with a FAST Team from Coldenham.

Due to rapidly deteriorating conditions, Chief Piper ordered an exterior attack only. Additional assistance was requested from Cronomer Valley & Good Will, along with the Town of Newburgh Vol Amb Corps.

The cause of the fire that destroyed the home is under investigation by the Town of Newburgh Fire Inspector, Town of Newburgh Police, and the Orange County Fire Investigation Unit. There were no reported injuries.
