CORTLAND - No one was injured Tuesday when a possible explosion in a garage damaged two homes in Cortland.

The Cortland Fire Department was called about 11:45 a.m. to 212 Juniper St. about a garage engulfed in flames, Cortland Fire District Commander Andy Bouchonville said at the scene. Flames destroyed the garage, as well as damaged the attached home and an adjacent house.

Firefighters stopped the fire from spreading within about 30 minutes.

Investigators with the Illinois Fire Marshal were called out to find the fire's source, but no foul play is suspected, Bouchonville said.
