The Santa Maria Fire Department trained their newest members of live fire exercises in an acquired commercial building.
Property owners donated the building to fire department for training, which was to be demolished to make way for new housing units.
Crews on all three shifts rotated through fire attack, ventilation, rapid intervention, and rehab.
After the training objectives were met, the building was set-up for the final burndown. Crowds gathered across the street as the building was consumed by fire.
